The natural gas explosion that destroyed a Noblesville home under construction on Sunday was accidental and caused by a leak in the furnace, investigators ruled Thursday.

The explosion destroyed the home in the Turnberry at the Park development near 166th Street and Summer Road.

Neighbors told investigators they heard a large explosion that shook their homes and rattled windows.

On Thursday, the Noblesville Fire Department released its final report on the explosion, concluding it was caused by an accidental natural gas leak in the home's furnace.

The explosion did an estimated $300,000-worth of damage to the home, which was deemed a total loss.

No injuries were reported in the explosion.
