FISHERS, Ind. -- Drivers on I-69 near Fishers may have noticed the giant metal poles towering over the highway. No, they’re not part of IKEA, and they’re not cell phone towers either – in fact – they’re part of a new entertainment venue set to open up later this year.

Those giant metal poles will support a large net that will surround a driving range for the new Topgolf entertainment venue. The company is opening their first Indiana location in Fishers.

The 65,000-square-foot facility will cost roughly $18 million to build and is expected to open sometime this fall.

The Fishers Topgolf has been in the planning stages since early last year, but construction didn’t begin until the last few months.

The company said they plan to begin hiring up to 450 employees this summer.

Topgolf is an entertainment center known for golfing games and its “sports bar” atmosphere. They offer a multi-level driving range with microchipped golf balls that keep track of your shots.

For more on the entertainment venue and what to expect when it opens visits the Topgolf Fishers website.

Topgolf is just one of many new businesses coming to Fishers this year, the most anticipated one being the IKEA, which is also on schedule to open sometime this fall.
