INDIANAPOLIS - A woman and a 7-year-old girl were seriously injured in a crash on Indianapolis' near-north side Saturday night.

The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection at East 30th Street and Fall Creak Road just before 9 p.m.

A 36-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl had to be cut from one of the vehicles, fire officials said.

They were both taken to Methodist Hospital in serious condition. Neither was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, fire officials said.

The 62-year-old driver of the other vehicle was released at the scene uninjured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
