INDIANAPOLIS - Wayne Township firefighters are crediting two good Samaritans with saving a man from a burning building Saturday.
According to Cpt. Mike Pruitt, two men were driving along Caven Street near Lynhurst Drive on the west side when they noticed smoke pouring from a home on the 5200 block.
Pruitt said the men, identified as Michael Wilson and Nathan Burch, both of Indianapolis, called 911. They then forced their way into the home, where they found a man lying on the floor. Wilson and Burch then pulled the man out of the home to safety.
The victim, who officials haven't identified yet, was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.
Wayne Township firefighters got the fire under control in 10 minutes, Pruitt said. Damage to the home was estimated at $20,000.
