Gov. Mitch Daniels appeared on "The Colbert Report" Thursday night to talk politics with political satirist Stephen Colbert.

Although Daniels said he promised not to get involved with politics during this campaign season, he briefly addressed the controversial comments made by U.S. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock.

"Are you endorsing Mourdock for Senate?," Colbert asked.

"I'm a non-combatant, actually. I'm not trying to duck your question," Daniels said.

"You're not trying to, but you are," Colbert responded.

Once Daniels is finished with his second term at the end of the year, he will take on the role of president of Purdue University.
