GRANT COUNTY, Ind. -- A Grant County farmer who has been accused of animal abuse says he's the one who is being abused in a social media campaign.
According to law enforcement and Mr. Wolff, the allegations of animal abuse have persisted for more than five years.
The Grant County Sheriff's Department says Wolff has cooperated in every investigation.
Wolff, who owns a farm just east of Marion, has eight horses, two donkeys and a mule. Wolff and his animals have been the target of a social media campaign alleging that he has not only mistreated them, but has threatened to shoot his horses and anyone else who steps on his property to intervene.
In just the past year alone, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health has conducted five separate investigations into the allegations. The most recent review concluded that the animals owned by Mr. Wolff tested well within normal ranges and were not in any jeopardy.
Grant County Sheriff's Deputy Kristin Sprunger was at the Wolff farm this weekend, she says, at Wolff's request.
"We've been documenting all of this. I've been taking pictures of it all the way. There is enough food for them," Sprunger said.
All of this underscores the fact that people have strong feelings about animals, no matter what the facts.
