INDIANAPOLIS - A Greenwood man died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 465 on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The crash happened on the northbound I-465 ramp onto eastbound Interstate 74 at 5 p.m., officials with the Indiana State Police said.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver failed to follow the curve and drove off across a grassy median before striking the bridge support head-on.
Police said no brakes or evasive maneuvers were made by the driver before the crash.
No other passengers were in the car at the time of the crash.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
The victim was later identified as Paul Summers, 46.
