INDIANAPOLIS - Authorities are investigating after a Greenwood police car was found on fire.
Franklin police were dispatched to a reported arson in the 2000 block of Turning Leaf Drive Friday, where they found the police car on fire.
"We were contacted by a person in the neighborhood who saw the fire, officers responded and we began the investigation into the arson and theft," Franklin Police Department detective Sgt. John Borges said.
Police said after the fire was out, investigators determined several items were missing from the vehicle.
An M4 rifle and two 30-round magazines were taken, along with a laptop computer, a breath alcohol measurement device and a flashlight.
Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana issued a plea for information from the public on Wednesday, saying a reward of up to $1,000 was available for information leading to an arrest.
