LAWRENCE, Ind. - A Greenwood woman was arrested after she drunkenly banged on the front door of a Lawrence home and urinated on the front step, police said.
Lawrence officers were called to a home in the 12000 block of Rose Haven Drive, near 65th Street and Carroll Road, just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of a suspicious person.
They found Kara Ashley Ostewig, 27, of Greenwood, wearing no pants or underwear, stumbling in front of a home and banging on a vehicle in the driveway, according to the police report.
The homeowner said Ostewig, who she hadn't seen before, had been ringing her doorbell and banging on the door trying to get inside.
She took off her shorts to urinate on her front step, the homeowner said.
Ostewig, who smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech, told police she thought her friend lived in the home, according to the report.
Ostewig was arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxication and public nudity.
Ostewig's mother told police that her daughter had been binge drinking for the past three days after leaving a rehab center for alcohol abuse three months ago, according to the report.
Police said Ostewig had been arrested on an earlier public intoxication charge Wednesday.
