HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. - Hamilton County Sheriff Deputy Kim Jowitt died Sunday morning after a three-year battle with cancer, officials confirmed.
For more than 30 years, Jowitt worked in various law enforcement roles within Hamilton County, and recently served as an administrative sergeant.
"Despite the many ups and downs of her battle with cancer, Sgt. Jowitt remained faithfully optimistic and positive with a fighter’s spirit," Deputy Bryant Orem said.
Sgt. Jowitt is survived by her husband, Chief Kevin Jowitt of the Noblesville Police Department, a daughter, Crystal, and her law enforcement brothers and sisters at the sheriff’s office and other agencies.
As of Sunday morning, funeral arrangements were still pending.
