FISHERS, Ind. – No arrests have been made in a shooting near a restaurant in Fishers Thursday evening.

Fishers police say the shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. in the area of 131st Street and SR37.  Officers found the male victim behind the Which Wich sandwich restaurant.

Police say there was an extensive search but the suspect remains at large.

One witness says the suspect may have fled the area in a blue passenger car.

"I wouldn't expect that to happen in a place like this," said Cody Jewell. "I'd say that is alarming.  I wouldn't expect that to happen."

Detectives say the shooting does not appear to be random and they are still trying to determine how the suspect and victim knew each other.

"We got to be alert and know our surroundings. It's not gonna stop me from getting a tasty sub," said Joe Spanke.

The 18-year-old man who was shot is listed in critical condition.

"It's a pretty heavily populated area so we're hoping that somebody may have been in the area that may have seen something or heard something and we're asking them to call the Hamliton County Dispatch center at (317) 773-1282," said Tom Weger of Fishers Police Department.
