HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. -- An instructional assistant at a Hamilton County high school is accused of showing pornographic material to a student.

Detectives were called earlier this month after a student at Hamilton Heights High School complained that April Moon Beeson, 42, was showing pornographic material to a male student.

After an internal and police investigation into the complaints, detectives determined there was probable cause to arrest Beeson on the charge, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.

Beeson is charged with dissemination of matter or conducting performance harmful to minors. Her first court appearance is scheduled for September 20.

According to Hamilton Heights School Corporation Superintendent Dr. Derek Arrowood, Beeson was terminated from her position as an instructional assistant upon her arrest.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.
