WESTFIELD, Ind. -- Westfield is alive with the sound of music thanks to a new group calling themselves the “Sound of Hope.”
Started by chiropractor Dr. Soong Ahn and his wife, Caroline, a professor at Anderson University who received her doctoral degree in composition at IU, the group is composed of students ranging from elementary to high school age.
The couple began almost two years ago with just 10 students. Now they have 50 students playing a variety of instruments.
The best part: The group goes to different nursing and rehab facilities around the Indianapolis area to, as they say, “bring the joy of music to those who can use a little extra smile.”
They bring around 25 students to perform each month on a Saturday and rehearse the week before.
These students dedicate their weekends to practice and serve the community using their talent.
