ARCADIA, Ind. - Hamilton Heights High School was evacuated Friday after a bomb threat, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office reported.
All students and employees were out of the school by noon, and the sheriff's office and Indiana State Police were responding.
Police told RTV6 that emergency crews were investigating a "suspicious item" at the school -- a note on a trash can.
Police said a note was found attached to a bathroom trash can that said a bomb had been placed in the school and would explode at 12:45 p.m.
As of about 1:15 p.m. Friday, no explosive device had been found in the school, and students and staff were let back inside.
School dismissal time will not be affected, and school officials are asking parents to not pick their kids up early from the school.
