HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. - Construction work is slated to begin this week on additions to two Hamilton County schools. It’s work that’s expected to add space for thousands of new students.
Hamilton Southeastern School District spokeswoman Mariana Richards said crews are ready to begin work on both Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern high schools. The additions will add space for roughly 1,000 more students at each school.
Richards said the school district hopes construction will be complete by the beginning of the semester in the fall of 2015. She also said the additions were made possible through a $95 million tax referendum, and that some of the funds will go toward other renovation projects at the schools.
Several reports show enrollment has significantly increased at both high schools in the past few years.
