HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. - The Hancock County coroner was arrested on theft charges Friday afternoon, officials said.
Authorities said Crystel Myers, 30, is accused of stealing items from a Wal-Mart on Nov. 28.
Myers and 21-year-old Jordan Rose are believed to have taken items including a Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and a Nintendo DS, police said.
Police said the stolen items were located and recovered from Myers’ home in Greenfield.
Myers was arrested at her home on Friday, police said. She was being held at the Hancock County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
Rose was also charged with theft, police said.
Myers' arrest marks the second time in two years a coroner in Hancock County has faced legal problems.
Coroner Tamara VanGundy was arrested on drunken driving charges in May 2012. Officials said VanGundy showed up intoxicated to the scene of a fatal fire.
VanGundy resigned from the position after pleading guilty.
