Helicopter called to respond to 'serious' Greenfield wreck

GREENFIELD, Ind. - A wreck Monday afternoon called crews and emergency vehicles to Main Street in Greenfield.

Hancock County dispatchers told RTV6 there was a serious crash sometime around 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of West Main Street in Greenfield.

Investigators said a man and his wife were traveling on scooters on U.S. Highway 40 (Main Street) when the husband attempted to turn left. He was hit from behind by a car, but the woman was not hit.

Dispatchers said an emergency helicopter landed at a nearby gas station to respond to the crash. Crews said the man was taken by helicopter to a hospital, but he was conscious and alert.

Very few details were available from investigators.
