40,000 pounds of cherry tomatoes spilled onto I-70 following semi fire

PLAINFIELD, Ind. – More than 40,000 pounds of cherry tomatoes were spilled onto I-70 Monday morning in Plainfield.

Firefighters said the incident happened after a semi-truck caught fire near the 53-mile marker.

The fire was extinguished shortly after, but traffic backed up on the eastbound lanes of I-70 for several hours.
