INDIANAPOLIS - One Hoosier couple saw a different kind a fireworks on the Fourth of July when they proclaimed their love for each other at a red, white and blue-themed wedding ceremony on the steps of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in downtown Indianapolis.
The bride, Tiffany Liffick, said she wanted to say her vows on the steps of the monument because they shared a romantic experience at the same spot just one year ago.
Brian said he proposed to Tiffany during the fireworks show in 2012 and that her family has been working with the pyrotechnic crew for more than 20 years.
"We really love the Fourth of July and this is one of our favorite times of year, and like you said, to have him propose a year ago today and our family does the fireworks every year, it's just a really special time," Liffick said.
Tiffany's mother, Darlene Moore, said helping out behind the scenes has become a tradition.
"My husband, my family, my son and then Tiffany was the elevator girl. She helped with the wiring and over time, some 20 years had passed and she met Brian," Moore said.
The newlyweds planned to help with the show Thursday night.
