INDIANAPOLIS - An Indiana Gold Star Family demanded an apology this week from Donald Trump, claiming he is attacking all families who've lost a love one while serving the U.S.
The latest controversy surrounding Trump comes from comments the Republican candidate made about Captain Humayan Khan's family after their appearance at the Democratic National Convention.

Khan's father, Khizr Khan, took to the stage to talk about his son's sacrifice and love for America, and to challenge Trump.
"Let me ask you, have you even read the United States Constitution?" Khan asked Trump from the stage. "I will gladly lend you my copy."
Trump didn't take the attack sitting down. He has fired back at Khan on Twitter and at rallies, going so far as to imply Mrs. Khan didn't speak because her husband didn't allow her to.
"His wife, if you look carefully, his wife was just standing there. She had nothing to say," Trump said. "Maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say."
Now, the Indiana family of Private First Class Steven Sirko, who was killed in Iraq in 2005, is responding – joining 22 other Gold Star Families to call for an apology.
Sirko's sister went even further:
"Sir, my brother died for [Trump] or any other citizen of this country to have the freedom to speak his mind, even if it is in opposition to my personal beliefs. Even when those beliefs are morally and ethically wrong. I will not control his speech, and he will not control my vote. I will not ask for his apology, nor will I seek his when I don't vote for him."
Gov. Mike Pence issued a statement Sunday night calling Cpt. Khan an "American hero" and saying all Gold Star Families should be cherished by every American.
Sen. Dan Coats also issued a statement, calling Cpt. Khan a true American hero who "paid the ultimate price for the country he loved."
