How to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS -- With St. Patrick's Day here, many people have a three-day weekend to fully celebrate the day. 

If you're still looking for things to do Thursday, this list of central Indiana activities should help for St. Paddy's Day.

Indianapolis Downtown Irish Fest

From noon-midnight, enjoy live music and Irish food with no cover charge at the Rathskeller at the Athenaeum.

Music schedule:

  • Noon - 4 p.m.: Brian Cunningham & the Irish Aires
  • 4:15 p.m.: Irish Dancers of Indianapolis
  • 5 p.m.: Gordon Pipers
  • 6 - 8:30 p.m.: Woomblies
  • 9 p.m. - midnight: Zanna Doo

March Madness Pub Crawl

Register for the nine-pub bar crawl from 3-7 p.m. The bar crawl will last until midnight. Then, if you can make it, there will be a large screen at the Pavilion during the afterparty to watch the basketball games. The tickets cost $25 and cover admission to all bars and drink specials. Register at the Pavilion at Pan Am.
