GRANGER, Ind. - More than 700 people filled a northern Indiana church for the funeral of a soldier killed last month along with five other soldiers in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.
Friday's funeral services at Granger Community Church for 30-year-old Army Staff Sgt. Jesse Lee Williams of Elkhart was followed by graveside services at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
The Elkhart Truth reports (http://bit.ly/1iAgZUm ) U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly and U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski were among 700 and 800 mourners who attended Williams' funeral.
The Elkhart resident was aboard a Black Hawk transport helicopter when it crashed Dec. 17 in Afghanistan, killing all six soldiers aboard the aircraft.
