INDIANAPOLIS - Hundreds of volunteers pitched in Monday to spruce up downtown Indianapolis' Wholesale District in an effort to keep the city center beautiful.
More than 200 volunteers partnered with district employees for the fifth annual event that aims to create a pedestrian-friendly environment for the downtown area which includes New York, Delaware, South and West streets.
Tasks included sweeping sidewalks, curbs, removing stickers, painting over graffiti and picking up litter.
