I-465 and I-70 to see lane restrictions near Indianapolis
Nightly restrictions begin Monday

INDIANAPOLIS - Transportation officials say a couple of interstates will see overnight lane restrictions soon while contractors install traffic sensors in the roadways.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) said the work will begin next Monday on Interstate 465 and will wrap up Thursday on Interstate 70.
INDOT said crews will be replacing sensors in each lane that are used to continuously collect data such as vehicle size and traffic volume. The work is weather-dependent and will be rescheduled if it rains.
Here’s the schedule:
Monday, Aug. 19
Beginning at 9 p.m and ending at 5 a.m. Tuesday, the two right lanes of northbound I-465 will be restricted just north of U.S. Highway 40, on the west side.
Tuesday, Aug. 20
Beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting until 1 a.m. Wednesday, the left lane of southbound I-465 will be restricted just north of U.S. Highway 40 on the west side. Then, the right lane at that location will be closed from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Wednesday, Aug. 21
Beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 5 a.m. Thursday, the three left lanes of westbound I-70 will be restricted two miles west of I-465, west of Indianapolis.
Thursday, Aug. 22
Beginning at 9 p.m. and lasting until 2 a.m. Friday, the two left lanes of westbound I-70 will be restricted two miles west of I-465, west of Indianapolis. Then, from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., the right lane of westbound I-70 will be restricted at the same location.
