INDIANAPOLIS - One Johnson County couple welcomed newborn identical triplet girls into their family earlier this week.
Avery, Cassidy and Bentley Doss were born Monday at St. Vincent Women's Hospital in Indianapolis.
According to St. Vincent Spokeswoman Ashley Keebler, parents Amanda and Chad Doss won't be able to bring the babies home just yet. The girls are expected to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for the next two months.
The Franklin couple said triplets were conceived without assistance after Chad had a vasectomy reversed. Amanda learned in June she was pregnant and an ultrasound in October showed she was carrying triplets.
Avery weighed 3 pounds, 15 ounces; Bentley 4 pounds, 3 ounces; and Cassidy 3 pounds, 11 ounces.
Experts put the odds of identical triplets being born without fertility drugs at from 1-in-1-million to 1-in-100-million.
