IFD: 2 entrapped in 2-vehicle crash

All involved in good condition

INDIANAPOLIS - Officials are investigating what caused a 2-vehicle crash that left two passengers trapped in one of the vehicles Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Officials said 8 Indianapolis Fire Department units were dispatched to 34th Street and Washington Boulevard just after 2 p.m. for a working vehicle extrication call.

A 2007 Jeep was traveling northbound on Washington Boulevard and a 2006 Lincoln Navigator was traveling eastbound on 34th Street, IFD said.

The driver of the Jeep, Janice Stewart, 65, and her passenger, William Stewart, 66, were both entrapped and it took IFD 10 minutes to remove them from the vehicle.

They were transported to Methodist Hospital in good condition, officials said.

IFD said the driver of the Lincoln Navigator, Gordon Flick, 54, was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital in good condition.
