INDIANAPOLIS -
Firefighters worked to rescue three people trapped inside an apartment building after a fire broke out early Thursday on the city's northwest side.
About 6 a.m., Pike Township Fire Department crews were called to the 4600 block of Abington Drive, near 52 nd and Georgetown Road on reports of a structure fire with entrapment.
Dispatchers said one person was trapped on the second floor, and another was trapped on the third floor. More than a dozen residents escaped the flames.
No injuries were reported, and no one was displaced from their home, officials said.
Several ladder units were called to the scene to assist in the rescue.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
