INDIANAPOLIS - A child playing with a lighter sparked a fire at an east-side Indianapolis apartment complex Wednesday afternoon, Indianapolis Fire Department crews said.
The fire was reported just after 12 p.m. at the Briergate Apartments near 30th Street and Post Road.
The child in question, his mother and sibling were taken to Riley Hospital for Children, and a resident was taken to Eskenazi Health Hospital. None of the victims were seriously injured, officials said.
IFD crews said damages from the fire totaled $300,000.
