INDIANAPOLIS - International House of Pancakes restaurants turned up their griddles Tuesday to give away thousands of pancakes for a good cause.

IHOP will serve each restaurant guest a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. In return for the meal, guests are asked to make a donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Jason Mueller with Riley Children's Foundation said Hoosiers dining at participating Indiana IHOPs may make a donation to Riley Hospital for Children.

"The proceeds from National Pancake Day will come directly to (Riley) to sustain medical care and expand upon medical research that takes place for Indiana's children," Mueller said.

The free pancake promotion will run from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday and is only available for dine-in customers.
