IMPD: 1 person fatally shot near east side Indianapolis home

INDIANAPOLIS - A body was found outside a home on the city's east side early Tuesday, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said.
Just before 3:30 a.m. police were called to the 2800 block of North Hawthorne Lane on reports of shots fired.
When they arrived at the home, they found a person who had been fatally shot.
The victim's identity was not immediately released and the shooting remained under investigation, IMPD officials said.
Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
