INDIANAPOLIS - One man was shot and killed outside a northwest side Indianapolis nightclub early Monday, dispatchers said.
The shooting was reported just before 3 a.m. in the 3800 block of Lafayette Road in the parking lot of Pure Passion West lounge (formally Babes Showgirls), Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said.
When police arrived at the lounge, they found a man lying in the parking lot who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The victim was later identified as Andre Magee, 24, of Indianapolis.
Witnesses said they saw a blue SUV leave the parking lot after the shooting. A vehicle matching that description was stopped a short time later in the 3800 block of DePauw Boulevard, and two people were taken into custody, police said.
One man was released after questioning, but police arrested Traver Condon, 28, of Modesto, Calif. on a preliminary charge of murder.
Meanwhile, business owners in the Lafayette Square area said they're becoming frustrated with the increase of violence in the area.
"I just don't understand people. You know, this is a nice area, a very nice area. Then you have killings here and killings there. Things happen across the street and everything. It's really terrible," said Rhonda Barber with Four Seasons Cleaners.
