INDIANAPOLIS - Homicide detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have arrested Seantel Marsden, 41, on charges connected to the Feb. 9. death of 29-year-old Rashshadd Artis, police said.
IMPD said Marsden is believed to be the driver of a Ford pickup truck that deliberately caused an accident resulting in the death of Artis.
Artis was a passenger in the vehicle that was operated by 31-year-old Shanntel Lewis, the ex-girlfriend of the suspect, police said.
Police said her vehicle was deliberately struck from behind by Marsden, which caused the vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with another vehicle, a media release said.
The media release said detectives reviewed the case with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office on Friday, and were granted an arrest warrant formally charging the suspect with the following felony charges: murder, battery, criminal recklessness and leaving the scene of an accident.
Marsden was taken into custody at his home Saturday just before 4 p.m. without incident, a police report said.
He was taken to the Adult Arrestee Processing Center to be processed and currently has no bond, the release said.
