IMPD: Daughters duct-taped mom

Gardner, Golightly facing charges

INDIANAPOLIS - Two women were arrested after police said they tied up their mother and put duct tape over her mouth.

Officers were called to the 500 block of East 23rd Street just after midnight Monday on reports of a person bound and gagged, officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Que Swanna Gardner, 22, and Lakeisha Golightly, 27, greeted officers at the door and showed them to their mother who had her hands tied with duct tape. Authorities said she had a strip of tape around her neck.

The women told police their mother was drunk and they were forced to restrain her in order to get some "peace and quiet," according to a police report.

The mother told police they tried to silence her and she was only able to call police after she got the tape off her mouth.

Both Gardner and Golightly face charges of battery and criminal confinement.
