INDIANAPOLIS -  

A driver crashed into a utility pole on the city's near northwest side early Tuesday, causing dozens of residents to lose power.

The crash was reported just before 5 a.m. near 29 th and Clifton streets when a driver crashed the SUV into the pole before abandoning the vehicle.

Indianapolis Power and Light officials worked to restore power to the neighborhood in less than an hour.

Police are searching for the driver of the SUV and asked anyone with information about the crash to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
