INDIANAPOLIS - Two people were hospitalized early Friday after a high-speed police chase that ended in a crash on Interstate 70 near Holt Road.
About 3 a.m., an Indianapolis Metro Police Department officer spotted a green Saturn sedan that ran a traffic light at Cold Springs and Michigan roads. The officer tried to stop the vehicle using emergency lights, but the driver disobeyed and continued driving south on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
As police pursued the car, the driver's speed reached 100 mph through several downtown streets and eventually onto the I-70 ramp at Holt Rd. As the driver entered the ramp, police said the car struck a wall.
The unidentified driver was critically injured and an unidentified passenger was seriously injured in the crash. Both the driver and the passenger were rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital.
IMPD later confirmed the car had been reported stolen said the driver will likely face a preliminary felony charge of resisting arrest.
