IMPD: Man fatally shot near Irvington Plaza shopping center

INDIANAPOLIS -  

A man was found shot to death early Tuesday in a neighborhood near the Irvington Plaza shopping center on the city's east side, Indianapolis Metro Police Department detectives said.

Just before 3 a.m., police responded to a 911 call about multiple gunshots fired in the area of 100 South Sheridan Avenue.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found an unresponsive man who had been shot.  The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

IMPD detectives are working with the Marion County Coroner's Office to identify the man.  Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS or text "INDYCS" to 274627 (CRIMES).
