INDIANAPOLIS -  

A body was found inside a home late Tuesday on the city's near west side, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said.

Investigators were called to the 1800 block of Holmes Avenue just before midnight on reports of a home invasion.  

Homicide detectives said the unidentified man appeared to have been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Witnesses told police a white Dodge Neon with a black front-end bra was seen leaving the area.

IMPD officers asked anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
