INDIANAPOLIS - A man was arrested after authorities found what they believed to be components of a meth lab in several backpacks late Sunday morning, police said.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a Burger King in the 7400 block of Rockville Road around 11:30 on a call of an intoxicated person.
Police arrived and noticed suspicious chemicals in three backpacks the man had.
The Wayne Township Fire Department arrived to check the backpacks and found what they believed to be components of a meth lab inside the backpacks, IMPD said.
The restaurant was evacuated and hazmat crews and the Marion County Health Department secured the items and turned the backpacks over to Indiana State Police.
There was no evidence of any leakage of the products and no injuries were reported, officials said.
The man was arrested on charges of public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance, police said.
