INDIANAPOLIS - A man and a woman were hospitalized after a shooting early Sunday on the city's near-east side.
The shooting was reported just before 4 a.m. at the intersection of 33rd Street and Brouse Avenue, near 30th Street and Keystone Avenue.
Police said a 31-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were sitting in an SUV when someone started shooting at them, dispatchers said. The pair had just pumped gas at a station near 38th and Oxford streets, when a man wearing a black jogging suit approached the SUV, firing shots into the driver-side window.
The woman was shot in the forehead and the man was shot twice in the arm. The victims were able to drive off before stopping at the intersection of 33rd Street and Brouse Avenue.
This incident follows a violent weekend in Indianapolis after police reported at least six shootings in just 36 hours.
