INDIANAPOLIS - A man was shot and killed in an apparent robbery on the city’s northwest side Wednesday evening, police said.
About 11 p.m., police were sent to the 4100 block of North Mission Drive near 38th Street and High School Road on reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying outside the residence who had apparently been shot. The victim, later identified as Modesto Morales-Cevada, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Detectives said they believe a robbery preceded the shooting and that they were looking for a suspect described as a black man, about 6 feet tall, about 150 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers asked anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS or text INDYCS to 274627 (CRIMES).
