INDIANAPOLIS - Police are searching for an escaped fugitive who let himself out of a police cruiser and outran officers.

Metro police said Larry Williams, 17, was handcuffed and put in the back of a patrol car Thursday afternoon after reportedly burglarizing a residence in the 8100 block of East 34th Street.

Another juvenile was also taken into custody in connection with the burglary, but police have not released his identity.

Police said Williams opened the car's door and fled while officers were processing paperwork related to the alleged burglary.

Officers chased Williams and conducted a search with K-9 officers, but they have not located Williams.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 160 pounds with a thin mustache and possible gold teeth. Police said he was wearing a hoodie, blue jeans and Adidas tennis shoes with dark gray vertical stripes.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
