INDIANAPOLIS - Police say an elderly man with Alzheimer's who went missing from the city's southeast side early Thursday was found safe and sound.
Detectives said Corey "Coy" Wilkinson, 77, was last seen about 2:00 a.m. walking his dog near the 800 block of South Irwin Street.
Nearly 60 IMPD officers and Indianapolis Fire Department firefighters set up a search command center at the Kitley Inn at 825 Kitley Avenue.
Police said he returned to his home about 7:45 a.m.
Investigators said it was not unusual for Wilkinson to walk his dog overnight, but he didn't return right away as he usually does. Police said the dog was not harmed.
"I just couldn't imagine why he would go out and coudn't get back here," said Dicie Wilkinson, the missing man's wife. "I just felt like it was God's will that he came back."
