IMPD searches for wanted man who escaped from custody

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis authorities were searching for a man who escaped from officers as they were in the process of arresting him Monday evening, officials said.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the suspect got away from police near the intersection of Pennsylvania and Ohio streets around 8 p.m.
IMPD officials said the suspect is believed to be 26-year-old Kadentrick William and was wanted for driving offenses and now felony escape.
He was described as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds and wearing a black jacket and black hat.
Police said he was handcuffed at the time and was believed to be on foot in the downtown area.
