INDIANAPOLIS - A woman was stabbed to death in a house on the city's east side Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Police said the woman was stabbed in the neck and taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police have not released the victim's identity.
The IMPD SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams were called to the 2200 block of North Arlington Avenue to negotiate the surrender of the suspect, who was still in the house.
IMPD spokesman Kendale Adams said the negotiators were able to take the suspect into custody without having to fire any shots. The suspect was later identified as Andrew Reynolds, 51, of Indianapolis.
A 14-year-old girl, the daughter of the victim, witnessed the stabbing, police said.
"She witnessed the alleged incident that happened. She bravely told officers that the suspect was still in the house," Adams said.
A woman who claims to be the suspect's cousin said the couple had been together for nine years and had a history of domestic violence.
