IMPD: Man shot during robbery at bus stop
19-year-old victim hospitalized in good condition

INDIANAPOLIS - A person was shot during a robbery at a bus stop late Wednesday evening, police said.
An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was on a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street when he heard a gunshot just before 11 p.m., police said.
The officer drove one block south and found a 19-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his lower leg, officials said.
The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in good condition. He told officers he was waiting at the bus stop when two black males approached him and demanded his backpack.
During the robbery, one of the suspects fired a shot and struck the victim in the leg, IMPD said.
Additional officers arrived and two male juveniles were caught and were being detained as persons of interest, police said.
