IMPD: Woman used pepper spray to steal designer jeans from the Fashion Mall at Keystone

Police searching for woman seen in video

INDIANAPOLIS - Police are investigating an unusual case of shoplifting at the Fashion Mall at Keystone Saturday night after a woman was seen on a surveillance video stealing designer clothes.

Indianapolis Metro Police said just after 8:30 p.m., two women came into the True Religion store and stole several pairs of jeans and some shirts.  Before leaving the store, they attempted to use pepper spray in a man's face, but he turned his head. Instead, a woman standing nearby felt the effects of the spray.  The women were able to get away, possibly with a third person driving the get-away car.

The assistant store manager called RTV6 for help in locating the woman seen on the surveillance video.

The case remained under investigation and police asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS. If you recognize the woman seen in the picture, you can text INDYCS to 274637 or submit an anonymous tip to www.crimetips.org
