INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Attorney General’s office has filed a lawsuit against an alleged do not call violator that helped drum up business for a roofing company exposed by Call 6 Investigates.

Green Frog Restoration is facing accusations of taking customers’ money and failing to do the work promised.

Greg Zoeller’s office has filed suit against Medina Marketing Solutions, LLC and its owner Lateef Farooqui for allegedly violating Indiana’s telephone privacy laws.

The company harassed Hoosiers over the phone in an attempt to drum up business for Green Frog

Restoration and other home repair companies, according to the complaint.

The Attorney General’s office received 63 complaints against Medina Marketing Solutions and Farooqui from January 2014 to May 2015.

Many citizens said they received multiple calls a day for several days about repair offerings.

“It’s no surprise that the fraudsters at Green Frog Restoration used other illegal, deceptive tactics to lure unsuspecting Hoosiers into their scam, including hiring a company to make unlawful calls and violate peoples’ telephone privacy rights,” Zoeller said. “Legitimate companies do not operate this way. If you are on the Do Not

Call list and are contacted by a telemarketer, you can almost be sure it is a scam.”

Call 6 Investigates was unable to reach Medina Marketing Solutions for comment on the lawsuit.

The AG’s Office is seeking an injunction against future calls and civil penalties up to $25,000 per illegal call.

If you receive an unwanted call, you can file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office by visiting www.IndianaConsumer.com or calling 1.888.834.9969.
