INDIANAPOLIS -- The annual Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration gets started this week, and city leaders had lots to say Wednesday about what's in store.

As many as 200,000 people are expected to head to downtown Indy for the annual event. The schedule includes appearances from names like New Edition, Larenze Tate and Al Hudson.

The event will also feature a music conference hosted by hit-maker Rico Love.

Also included: a job fair; free health screenings; and a youth leadership summit.

Last year the free concert was rained out. This year, event organizers say they are ready for the worst.

"We told everybody, look, you gotta leave, the weather," said Black Expo President Tanya Bell. "We still had some people that were out there sorta camping out hoping it would pass over, but we'll do the same thing that we did last year in the event that it looks like it's gonna be really bad weather. We'll announce it from the stage, we'll continue to announce it from the stage and then there's places around that they can go that are downtown."
