EVANSVILLE, Ind. - An elderly Evansville couple was killed when a pickup truck taking a curve slid into and flipped over a guardrail and landed on a house, killing the couple inside.

The accident killed Homer Meriwether, 75, and Lela Meriwether, 74, when the truck crashed into their bedroom just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

The driver of the truck, Thomas Hodgson, 24, also died.

Police are still investigating what caused the vehicle accident.

"We have called out a reconstructionist and referenced the accident. We're actually unsure what caused the driver to miss the curb and hit the guardrail," said Lt. Monty Guenin of the Evansville Police Department.

All three people were pronounced dead at the scene.
