HARLAN, Ky. - Police in eastern Kentucky say they have arrested an Indiana man who has been a fugitive for 14 years.

Ralph North, 49, was taken into custody over the weekend on a 1998 warrant stemming from a probation violation. Police say North was on probation in Indianapolis after being convicted of molesting a child in a different state.

North is being held on a federal detainer at the Harlan County Detention Center as he awaits extradition to Indiana.

Police said they worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to find and arrest North.

Online jail records don't indicate whether North has an attorney.
